Getting to Leeds

The conference is being held in the Parkinson and Michael Sadler Buildings, on the University of Leeds campus. A campus map can be found here. The Parkinson Building is approximately a 10 minute walk from Leeds city centre and the majority of accommodation.

The red brick building on the right is the Michael Sadler Building. The white porched door gives direct entrance to the Rupert Beckett Lecture Theatre, down one flight of stairs.

By Rail

Leeds Train Station is in the centre of Leeds, a 20-25 minute walk or 5 minute taxi/10 min bus (see below) ride away from the university campus. There are regular trains from major cities across the UK into Leeds, including London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, and Bristol.

By Bus

The nearest bus stop is a 1 minute walk away, outside the Parkinson Building, served by routes 1, 1A, 1B, 6, 27, 28, 56, and 874. More information is available from West Yorkshire Metro. The 27 and 28 buses are the most direct route from the railway station – the stop can be found opposite the cycle hub outside the main entrance. (Please note, if you have traveled by bus in Leeds before, there have been recent significant changes to routes and bus numbers due to major road works in the city centre).

By Road

Leeds is accessible via the M1 and M62. Parking on the campus is not available, and we encourage attendees to use the train where possible. Parking in the city centre is limited, and can be avoided using the Park and Ride scheme. Park and Ride sites are available at Elland Road (LS11 8TU), and Temple Green (LS9 0PS).

By Air

Leeds is served by two international airports, Leeds Bradford and Manchester. Leeds Bradford is a 25 minute taxi ride from campus. Alternatively the Flying Tiger 757 bus runs between Leeds Bradford airport and city center. Trains run directly from Manchester Airport to Leeds Station, although tickets are best booked in advance.
